Welcome to the official website of The Network of
People Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (NEPWHAN). NEPWHAN is a
non-governmental, non-profit, non-religious association formed
in Ibadan in 1997 and was launched at Kaduna in 1998 with the
objective of bringing together People living with HIV/AIDS
(PLWHA) from all over the nation and giving them a common
voice with which to participate in the fight against the HIV.
All support groups in
Nigeria are automatically admitted into the Network. This
however refer to groups that are solely formed and managed by
positive persons.
In the year 2000, the
Network came together to re-assess its position and map out a
way forward. A constitution was drafted; Network officers were
elected to fill the following offices: Coordinator, Deputy
Coordinator, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Financial
Secretary, Treasurer and six (6) Zonal Coordinators and
Secretaries each. |
